As a personal video project, Louise Abbott followed the dismantlement of a beautiful nineteenth-century high-drive barn in Knowlton's Landing and is now documenting its restoration a few miles away in Austin. This barn was featured in  The Heart of the Farm. The photo of the barn intact is undated, but it goes back more than twenty years. The next photo was taken on April 21, 2010. The third photo was shot on July 3, 2010. The fourth photo was shot on August 21, 2010, the first day of the restoration. The final photo was shot on September 25, 2010.

For a video documentary on Nathan Beach, Louise Abbott followed the raising of a timber-frame barn that replaced a nineteenth-century high-drive barn built by Beach on his farm, Beechwood, outside of the village of Georgeville. The new barn echoes the old one in every aspect. Beach was an important builder in the region. Several of his buildings are extant, including the Haskell Free Library and Opera House in Stanstead. This image shows the timber frame after the "topping out" at the farm on June 17, 2010.
